An extremely popular
and very rare HORIZONTAL format
American movie poster measuring approx. 41" x 54". Subway sheets are printed on a
thicker paper than one-sheets. Most contain the same artwork as the advance
materials, and are almost always issued as "advances." They are most often found
in subway displays. These posters can be either rolled or folded. Some
collectors like the subway sheet because there are fewer of them released. They
are somewhat large and cumbersome, but because they are printed on a thick
paper, they are more durable. Still used
today. HIGHLY DESIRED DUE TO ITS HORIZONTAL FORMAT AND EXTREME SCARCITY! |

This is a
beautiful example of an original 40"x60" U.S. card stock movie poster from
the classic "THE GODFATHER". Rolled, never folded. A long time can go by
without one of these coming up for sale. Gently used and well preserved.
Minor border wear, some very minor surface wear, some wrinkles along the
top. Graded C8 Excellent condition. Not in perfect shape but still very
presentable. A few very minor defects that can easily be fixed by any
talented restorer. Displays beautifully as is. Someone took very good care
of this, you will have trouble finding a nicer one.
40x60's were
printed in far fewer numbers than one sheets making them extremely rare. They
often sell for far more than the one sheet. Collectors love them because they
were issued ROLLED (never folded) and because they usually hold up much better
to wear and tear than one sheets do. Usually printed on card stock, studios
stopped issuing 40x60's in the early 1980's. |
